Previously I have discussed about Cloud Computing, one of the burgeoning technology in Indonesia. still associated with the virtualization world this time I'll explain a little about the meaning Hypervisor. Hypervisor virtualization is a technique that allows multiple operating systems to run concurrently on a single host. It said due to OS virtualization technique that is not a real OS, just a virtual machine only. The task of the hypervisor is to set each of the operating system in accordance with the turn so as not to interfere with each other. Sometimes, the hypervisor is also known as Virtual Machine Management (VMM), in accordance with his duties in managing multiple virtual machine.
On each type of computer, such as cluster computing, grid computing, PC or mainframe, has a different OS from each other due to have a system that is also different. This type of hypervisor runs directly on the server hardware, meaning not in need of another operating system to run this type 1 hypervisor. so hypervisor has direct access to the hardware without having to pass OS. Example type 1 hypervisor is VMware ESXi. When viewed from a virtualization technique used, the type of this one is kind of hardware assisted.
